The mirror lake

Another image from my norway trip. It’s near the town of Odda and at the end of the valley on the the other side of the lake, you can see a bit of a big glacier.
I was walking to the end of the glacier tongue at another day. But I could not reach it, because it was so steep and I was worried about my buddy Bubu, which was accompany me.

The glacier river

Once again an image from Norway. It was on a hike to the Briksdalsbreen, a glacier in the middle of Norway. It’s an easy walk from the parking lot a little upward to the end of the valley where the mightful glacier is coming down from the upper part.
You can see the melted water from the glacier in the foreground and the end of the valley with the large glacier tongue. Unfortunately it is melted now to far, so you can no more reach the end of the glacier without danger. But it is impressive anyway, if you are standing at the foot of the glacier.

The shrinking glacier

If you are watching a map, then you’ll see the Grindelwald glacier is going nearly down to the valley ground. But as you can see, there is missing a big part of ice at the end. Anyway this glacier looks still very impressive. I shot this image with my 100mm macro from the other valley side. If you are close to a glacier you should go for a hike to it and watch it from near distance.
